Questions for the visit

Bring the question. Leave with a plan.

There is no need to arrive knowing which treatment to request. Start with the concern, then ask how the choices compare.

Put the concern into your own words

Medical words are optional. A clear account of what you want to discuss is a useful place to begin.

Periods or cycle changes
What has changed? When did I notice it? What answer am I hoping for?
Menopause questions
Which changes do I want to discuss? What options do I want help comparing?
Sexual health
What would help me speak freely? How will this conversation stay private?
Pregnancy plans or breastfeeding
How does this affect the choices being discussed?
Weight care
What is the goal of the visit? What do I want this care to help me change?

Ask about choices before agreeing to a plan

  • What do you think is happening, and what is still unclear?
  • What are the options, including waiting for more information?
  • Why does this option fit the concern I brought?
  • What might be different if I chose a visit in person?
  • When a medicine is proposed, can you name it and explain why it fits this concern?
  • What other medicines, supplements, allergies, or past care do you need to know about?
Blank folded paper, a blue pencil and a small white bowl on a lilac surface.
A question list can be unfinished and still be useful.

Leave with a plan you can repeat

Explain the plan back as you understood it. Ask for unclear parts in writing.

  • What happens next?
  • Who tells me about results?
  • Where can I send a later question, and who will reply?
  • What changes would mean I need a different kind of visit?
  • What do I pay if the plan changes?
